On Monday, December 1st I'm setting up a pop-up shop right inside Sotheby's! This is the only holiday show I'll be doing this season, and I'm bringing EVERYTHING (including the ever popular button sets, above). If you're in the NYC area and want to get some afternoon shopping in, come meet me at this once a year event. The Sotheby's Hoiday Bazaar will be held at 1334 York Avenue (between 71st and 72nd), on the 7th Floor, from 12 - 4. On Monday, yes MONDAY December 1st.

Here is the final painting of The Windmaker, painted in 2 hour segments while Penny was at pre-school everyday, then one marathon weekend session. This will be on view 12/6 - 1/7 at Too Art for TV 7, at the Bunnycutlet Gallery in Brooklyn. Info at the link.

If you're already in holiday mode, I'll be bringing the MamaRobot pop-up shop to Sotheby's this December! Come meet me and scoop up some MamaRobot goodies at the Sotheby's Holiday Fair on December 2 from 12-4. Sotheby's is located at 1334 York Avenue here in NYC.

This is an early sketch for a painting I'm making for the next Too Art for TV show. It's called The Windmaker.

Another crazy creation from my sketchbook. Drawn while waiting for Penny to get out of her ballet class. She calls him "Monsteroo". (ETA 'course I cleaned him up in Flash. I draw clean but not that clean!)

The Cloudmaker

Hello! Just dropping in to share a fun super quick drawing I made, called "The Cloudmaker". Rough concept for a possible painting, thought up/sketched up on the subway ride home one day. I'm really into machinery right now!

Having Fun

My husband has a primary goal when writing a song: to entertain himself. I've been doing a lot of thinking about what this means. It means removing the inner critic. It means removing expectations. Removing fear of failure, fear of not being good enough, fear of making a mistake, fear of wasting time. Claes Oldenburg is an artist who was able to truly embrace this idea, at least it seems that way to me. Below, some of my favorite pieces from his current NYC exhibit.

Another discarded album cover. The cool concept was Chris's idea, and I'm again happy with the execution. The problem is size and readability. Oh well!

I was thrilled to discover my alphabet poster was featured on Apartment Therapy last week. It's especially validating, as a mostly commercial artist, to get recognition for the work I do completely on my own. A nice thought to return to when I'm toiling away on the umpteenth revision of a design for my day job.

I've been messing around with ideas for my husband's upcoming album cover. This was one we discarded, but I liked how it turned out.
