Meh.

A quickie drawing for a possible birthday card design. I'm not overjoyed with it, but I've had a bit of a block the last few days, so I'm trying to push through. My mom's comment? "Well, raccoons are scavengers."
Also, this is what happens if I don't make the bed first thing:

Sunday Morning

No new drawings today, but I do have something to show for yesterday. I redesigned (much of) the MamaRobot website! I think it's a lot cleaner and more organized now. I was motivated by statcounter. Once I signed up and saw that people are actually looking at my stuff, I thought I'd better spiff it up. I used Dreamweaver for the first time, instead of writing the HTML myself. It was only slightly easier, but maybe that's because I'm too ADD for the tutorial.

On the agenda for today, I'm heading over to Brooklyn for a meeting at Etsy Labs! I'm very excited to meet the New York Etsians and I bet that I'll suddenly get inspired to make lip balm and clothes and jewelry.

Elephant

A little elephant and birdie have entered the running for onesie designs. And now, after I drink an iced coffee the size of my head, I have to decide which designs will make the cut and how many to order.

Piggies

Pigs are a bit hard for me to draw, it turns out. They've got a cuteness that's tough to capture. I love their little bodies - no neck, and their head just sticks straight out, so they always look like they mean business. So I'm still trying to capture the piglets. But I think a cute pink pig onesie could be good.

Froggy

I found out that when you screenprint, each color costs extra. So I'm exploring single color design ideas. At least for now.

Robots!

So here's yet another onesie idea. The giraffe onesie got nixed by my mom, who claims that cute things should be able to have a "y" suffix (i.e. froggy, birdy, etc). So I turned it into a saucy card instead. No waste here at the factory!

Ode to Cinder

Here is my latest treasury. The theme is...

It's not very popular as of the moment. But it gave my husband a laugh.

Rawr

This is my entry in the Etsy Poster contest. I love that tiger charm in the top row! On the agenda for today: filling out my Illinois Business Registration Application. Unless I can think of any more ways to procrastinate.

Tiger

Hmm. Not as happy with this one as the last two. It may not make the cut. But, in the meantime, I'm looking into wholesale prices and thinking of color schemes. September is just around the corner!

Another onesie

Another possible design featuring the ever popular polar bears. Part of this drawing was done while on hold with the phone company yesterday.

Giraffe on a onesie?

I've been working on possible onesie designs, with the help of my Audubon African wildlife book. I'm resisting the urge to think of what people would buy. Instead, I'm drawing what I feel moved to draw. After all, this is my best seller and it was just an impulsive doodle.

Friday: the Animated Series

If you're home and awake at 12:30 am this Saturday night, and you have cable, turn on MTV to see the premiere of Friday: The Animated Series. See if you can spot my adorable backgrounds and props.

Leafy

Listings on Etsy last for 4 months before they expire. My leaf card set just bit the dust, so I'm re-listing it as a single card. I finally finished my ox project, so this week I have to look into where to print up some onesies. Not only is Renegade Chicago not far away, but I know one new mom and one soon-to-be mom!

Chicago!

I just got my acceptance e-mail from the Chicago Renegade Craft Fair. Yes! After spending a long hot Saturday afternoon traveling to and from Greenpoint, I really needed a boost.

OMG

The list of buyable things I want is short. Maybe that's why my birthday always makes me a bit anxious. And yet, every year, the presents I do get are poifect.
